The idea of this pair of watercolor paintings captivated my mind for some time. I imagined a lush rose garden, my favorite flower, when viewed closely revealed the flower lady maintaining the strength of the floral bouquet.

I painted this Alla prima style which is my favorite way to paint watercolor. No restrictions just loose and expressive.

The companion painting done in the same style called “Flower girl” conveys the more youthful version of the rose bush full of robust growth toward the sun.

Together they represent the rise and fall of the gorgeous flowers of the Rose plant and it phases of life.

These are painted with premium watercolor paints on Arches cold press paper. These are original one of a kind signed pieces.
